WSF Honorary President Esat Delihasan

Born in Rize in 1969, Delihasan completed his primary and secondary education in Rize and then high school in Istanbul. He started sports in 1984 at the Eminönü Cultural Karate Specialization Sports Club. In 1988, during the Atilla Çeliktürk and Hakan Alpay era, he was selected for the national team and represented Türkiye in the European Championship.

Delihasan, who was named one of the eight best fighters with his performance at the World Championships and became the first person from Türkiye to be selected for the World Mixed in 1988, wore the national jersey 120 times.

After transferring to Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club in 1994, Delihasan began his coaching career in 1995 and was appointed as the National Team Coach in 2003, before the Youth World Championship.

Delihasan, who has become one of the well-known names in world karate by training the national teams of many countries, has also received transfer offers.

Delihasan, who has served as the President of the Turkish Karate Federation since 2008, also served as the Technical Director of the Balkan Karate Federation, the Technical Director of the Mediterranean Karate Federation, the Vice President of the Balkan Karate Federation, the Vice President of the Mediterranean Karate Federation, the President of the World Shotokan Karate Association, the President of the Black Sea and Caspian Countries Karate Federation, a member of the Board of Directors of the World Karate Federation, and the President of the Balkan Karate Federation Association.
